Author J.S. Betts visits Melton Primary School
There's magic everywhere, if you know where to look ...
It was a very special storytime for Year 1 and 2 children as J.S. Betts, author of the newly released Willow Tree Wood series, visited local school, Melton Primary.
Accompanied by Sarah from Team Marketing, the visit was organised to introduce children to people that work in their local area as part of a school project.
The session involved Puffins and Parrots classes being given a talk on designing and publishing books by Sarah, before J.S. Betts (otherwise known as Josh!) read a chapter of his new book, Little Fox and the Fairy, to the children.
There was even time for budding writers to try their hand at being authors, as Josh invited them to suggest what the next Willow Tree Wood instalment could be about. No surprises that unicorns, zombies and monsters all made an appearance!
Children were then invited to ask questions, where they discovered more about what it’s like to write books, how many customers Imagine That work with and which books inspired Josh to become a writer.
With children given the opportunity to take home signed copies of Little Fox and the Fairy, there were lots of excitable smiles (and hopefully a new-found enjoyment of reading) as Josh and Sarah headed back to Imagine That HQ for more bookish adventures.
Thank you to the staff and children at Melton Primary for a fantastic morning and we hope to visit you again soon!
